Teeth Whitening
Quickly becoming the most popular, safest and most economical way to change a smile. Teeth whitening procedures can help remove old stains from coffee, wine tea, smoking or colas and lighten other discolorations in tooth enamel. We offer both in-office power whitening by ZOOM!® and take home whitening in our practice.

The ZOOM® system allows us to whiten your teeth in a single visit.
The process is simple:

  1. We begin by recording your starting tooth shade.
  2. We cover your gums using a special paint-on plastic material to isolate the teeth and keep them dry.
  3. The whitening gel is then applied to the front surfaces of the teeth. The gel is activated using a light specifically designed to interact with gel ingredients to break through old stains and whiten tooth surfaces.
  4. We repeat this process two to three times while you relax in the dental chair and listen to your favorite music.
  5. In a little over an hour, we remove the covering material and check your new shade, often several shades lighter than your beginning shade. Read more about ZOOM® >>
Take-home whitening is achieved using custom clear mouthpieces fabricated to hold whitening gel. Wearing these mouthpieces several hours a day or overnight for a few weeks will lighten most teeth.

Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made coverings that are adhered to tooth surfaces that have been lightly prepared to allow for the thickness of the veneer. After a thorough and detailed examination and consultation process, your custom porcelain veneers are carefully designed by Dr. Israel and fabricated by a dental laboratory under his direction. We can usually complete your veneers in as little as two weeks.

Veneers are often the ideal solution for smile imperfections such as gaps, permanent stains, chipped, slightly rotated or overlapped teeth and mismatched shading of crown and bridge work.

Porcelain veneers are contoured and shaped to fit your smile and bite, making them comfortable and extremely difficult to tell them apart from your natural teeth. Long-lasting, highly polished porcelain materials used in veneers are highly resistant to staining from food and beverages and can help you achieve a permanently brighter smile!

Porcelain Crowns
A crown or "cap" is used to cover a tooth that has been stucturally comprimised by decay, broken-down fillings, or trauma. Crowns can be designed with porcelain facings over metal or all porcelain, depending on biting forces and location of the tooth in the mouth.

Often patients with discolored teeth, aged crowns or bonding, or slightly tipped or rotated teeth are self-conscious about their appearance. Porcelain crowns are a beautiful, natural-looking way to achieve a smile "makeover".

Your porcelain crown design begins with a thorough examination of the teeth and gums to determine your smile shape, size, symmetry and oral health. To prepare a tooth for a crown, we remove any decay or broken filling material and shape the tooth structures to serve as support for the crown. After the tooth is prepared, we will take impressions and work with temporary crown materials and shade guides to make sure that we achieve your esthetic goals for your smile.

Dr. Israel then works closely with dental laboratory technicians to fabricate your custom-fitted crown and will evaluate the completed crown on appearance, fit, bite and speech before final placement.

Instant Orthodontics
"Instant" orthodontics is not really orthodontics at all, but a cosmetic approach which uses porcelain crowns and veneers to address minor smile challenges which previously could only be corrected with braces.

When teeth are slightly crooked or have gaps between them, we are sometimes able to angle and shape porcelain crowns or veneers to close gaps and create the cosmetic appearance of straight teeth, achieving the esthetic effects of orthodontic treatment. This transformation can be completed in a few visits, and is often more appealing to our patients who have limited time and do not want to pursue long-term orthodontic care.

While many conditions can be corrected with this approach, some do require traditional orthodontics. Our office also features Invisalign® which addresses many orthodontic conditions.

Dental Bonding - (Tooth Colored Fillings)
Dental bonding can be a less costly approach to achieve minor esthetic changes in front teeth. A pliable composite resin plastic material is applied to the tooth surface and hardened with a special curing light to restore small areas that have had decay removed or, as a cosmetic solution to smooth chipped edges and close small spaces between teeth.

While not as durable or long-lasting as porcelain crowns or veneers, bonding is a very conservative procedure, requiring very little tooth preparation or drilling. Resin composite materials are mercury-free and come in a variety of shades to closely match you own teeth.

Bonding is also a great way to make cosmetic decisions about your smile. We often temporarily place bonding materials to visually communicate and plan the shape, size and shade of permanent pocelain crowns and veneers.
